Acceptable use
Joint exists for two partners to share an inbox, a credential vault, and the small administrative quiet of a shared life. You agree to use the service for that purpose, and not to send spam, host unlawful material, attempt to disrupt other Joint households, or use the service in any way that would reasonably cause us to lose our processor relationship. We may publish more specific conduct rules as a code of conduct; where we do, this section incorporates them by reference.
Account termination
Either partner may activate Separation Mode at any time. It freezes shared household changes while preserving both personal sign-ins, CSV export, and activity history. Bilateral close or transfer resolution is a later flow. We may suspend or close an account that violates these terms.
- You may close your account from settings; closure takes effect immediately and is irreversible.
- We may suspend or close an account that violates these terms or that we have been unable to reach at the email on file for an extended period.
Billing and subscriptions
Paid plans are billed through Stripe. Subscription pricing, billing cadence, and any applicable taxes appear at checkout and on the Pricing page before you commit. The Free, Together, and Plus plans each carry the policies below.
- Together and Plus renew automatically each month. Stripe manages the renewal schedule and receipts.
- You may cancel any paid plan at any time from settings. Cancellation stops future charges immediately; you keep access through the period you have already paid for.
- Refunds: Together and Plus fees are not refundable once billed, except where required by local law.
- Taxes, currency, and your billing receipt are handled by Stripe in the country on your payment method.
Partners and household pairing
Each Joint account is a household of two partners. Either partner may invite a partner while a slot is open. If a separation is not amicable, either partner may activate Separation Mode; it freezes shared changes without removing a partner or transferring ownership.
- One invite per household. While the household has two owners, a new invite can only be sent while one slot is open.
- An invitee accepts by signing in with their own email and confirming the pairing. Until they do, the household has a single owner.
- If a separation is not amicable, either partner can activate Separation Mode. It preserves both personal sign-ins and freezes shared changes without removing a partner or transferring ownership.
Shared services
Joint bundles three services into one household: the joint inbox that fans out mail to both partners, the credential vault that stores the logins a household accumulates, and forwarded credentials — vault entries that route outbound (a partner email becomes, say, the household wifi login) so you don't have to dig it up again.
- Joint inbox — one canonical address, both partners as owners, inbound mail fans out to each.
- Shared credential vault — encrypted entries, both partners as viewers and editors.
- Forwarded credentials — saved partners for outbound use, surfaced where you'd otherwise re-type them.
Limit of liability
We provide the service as-is and as-available. We are not the postal service, the bank, or the password manager you have finally decided to use; we are the small layer that connects them. Where a third-party service is the actual sender of a piece of mail, that sender is responsible for delivery, not us.
- Service is provided as-is. We do our best, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.
- We do not guarantee delivery of mail forwarded by a third-party service. The third-party sender remains the canonical source of truth for whether a message was sent.
- Each partner acts on their own behalf within Joint. We are not responsible for the actions one partner takes that affect the other.
- Where local law allows, our maximum liability to you is the total amount you have paid us in the trailing twelve months.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms in a way that materially affects you, we will email both partners on the partnership at least thirty days before the change takes effect. Continuing to use Joint after that date counts as acceptance. The previous version stays archived at /terms/previous for at least twelve months.
Questions about these terms
If anything in these terms is unclear, or if you would like the previous version, write to us at joint@polsia.app and a person on the team will reply within two business days.
